Whitepaper by Medet Ahmetson 2026
Although, the whitepaper talks through the prism of the blockchain, its not a typical blockchain project.
Ara is a framework to provide a software ownership to the users. By software ownership, I mean malleable software. In short treat the computer screen as the Hypercard or Macromedia Flash (before Adobe acquisition) but instead pre-built data using apps as the Lego bricks.
The framework consists of the four components:
- a software environment,
- a semantics,
- a blockchain for the protocol agreement. Any open-source maintainer registering the app agree that they are making user-centric software. Blockchain stores the software semantics: source-code to business-logic relationship.
- another blockchain that acts as a decentralized recommendation engine, to find malleable components.
Each of the ecosystems: a blockchain, metaverse, AI, malleable softwares, open-source sustainability, semantic web are each have own directions. But if you treat them as components and combine them, then it actually solves the unsolvable challanges of each other. Blockchain gets real use-case, open-source gets funded and crafted, while users get the malleable softwares.
Too much people focus on data ownership, let’s focus from the software ownership perspective!
Web3 is a creativity on a collective wisdom.
